Position: Senior Systems Support Specialist

Reports to: Director of Information Technology

Division: Cookie Jar Entertainment

Location: Burbank, California

Description:
Our Burbank office has an opening for a full-time position in our I.T. department for a Senior Systems Support Specialist. This position will be responsible for providing computer and telecom support to all users in our Burbank office as well as remote users. Seeking a motivated individual with strong troubleshooting abilities and excellent communication skills to provide first and second level support with some system administration.

Responsibilities and job functions:
  • Provides primary support for all IT help desk calls and requests
  • Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots and repairs computer systems, hardware, computer peripherals and mobile devices
  • Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security and systems groups
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems
  • Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems when needed
  • Adheres to hardware, software and other IT related standards put in place by the Director of Information Technology
  • Manage data backup systems and perform data recovery when necessary
  • Setup users, configure phones and administer the Avaya IP based phone and voicemail systems
  • Issue cell phones, manage cell phone inventory, and review cell phone bills
  • Offers Tier 1 Blackberry Support
  • Monitor network devices (routers, switches, firewall, etc) for unusual activities as the result of defective hardware, incorrect configuration, malicious network attacks
  • Maintain/update documentation of all systems
  • Must be able to effectively communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel
  • Deals with all issues related to office equipment including copiers, telephones and conference room set ups
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience in a desktop support role
  • Working knowledge of XP/Vista, Windows Server 2003/2008, Basic Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, subnetting), Exchange Server, AD, Office 2007, Trouble ticketing (Track-It! or relevant system)
  • Nice to have: Mac OS X, Avaya IP phone, Jaguar System 7, Backup Exec, SQL 2000/2005, IIS, FTP, Cisco and Juniper experience and experience in an entertainment related environment
