Four New Series Licensed to Major North American Networks
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
TORONTO/LOS ANGELES (April 10, 2007) - Cookie Jar Entertainment is gearing up for MIPTV with a wide range of new programming to offer global broadcasters. Four new animated series are already set to debut on top North American networks including Kids' WB! on The CW, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), Radio-Canada, TELETOON and YTV (Canada).
With exciting shows featuring epic battles between good and evil in mystical worlds, a buddy comedy, a new take on the classic works of Richard Scarry and a frog who teaches a young boy about empowerment, Cookie Jar Entertainment has something to offer children of all ages.
"Magi-Nation"
Based on the popular trading card game, "Magi-Nation" follows the adventures of Tony Jones, an average teen from Earth who finds himself mysteriously transported to the magical world of Magi-Nation. In these Moonlands Tony befriends two young Magi heroes-in-training who join him on a journey to defeat the evil Shadow Magi who are out to rule their world. Along with their trusty collection of Dream Creatures these new friends must solve riddles, battle evil and discover the secrets hidden in each region on the Moonlands. During their adventures, they just might discover some secrets about themselves!
Kids will enter the fantastic world of "Magi-Nation" this fall where they can follow the adventures of the three young Magi heroes. From there, fans can experience the continuing action of Tony Jones, Edyn and Strag via the Internet as they navigate their way through environmental obstacles and confront the constant challenges and creatures that threaten the vitality of the 12 precious Moonlands of Magi-Nation. "Magi-Nation" is a Cookie Jar Entertainment and Daewon Media (South Korea) co-production. Twenty six episodes will debut on Kids' WB! on The CW, CBC and Radio-Canada this fall.
"Hurray For Huckle! (Busytown Mysteries)"
Inspired by the best-selling children's author Richard Scarry, who sold more than 150 million books worldwide, "Hurray For Huckle! (Busytown Mysteries)" blends humor and learning by following the lives of six unforgettable characters who try to solve everyday life mysteries in Busytown. Huckle Cat, Lowly Worm, Sally Cat, Hilda Hippo and other colorful characters are always up for a new adventure and with everyone driving their own funny vehicle, getting there is half the fun. "Hurray for Huckle! (Busytown Mysteries)" encourages young viewers to help solve life's little puzzles as they ask questions, find clues and discover answers, all from their own unique kid point-of-view. Twenty six half-hour episodes of "Busytown Mysteries (Hurray For Huckle!)" will air as part of the Kids' CBC preschool programming block.
"Will & Dewitt"
Will is ready to take on the world and all the challenges that come his way. But sometimes, even an energetic, enthusiastic boy can get discouraged. Things like switching from little boy to big boy boots with buckles and your first sleepover can seem impossible. That is where Dewitt, a small green frog who lives in Will's backyard comes in. Impish and full of what he feels to be impeccable wit, Dewitt's unique ability to "morph" into any shape helps encourage Will to keep on trying. Together, they learn that with a little effort, they can make a big splash in the world. With Will's sister, best friend and fun animal characters Will and Dewitt meet all their challenges head on and find lots to laugh and sing about along the way. Twenty six episodes of "Will & Dewitt" will debut this fall on Kids' WB! on The CW and YTV.
"World of Quest"
"World of Quest" is a comedic buddy series following the young pampered Prince Nestor on a mission to save his father and the kingdom of Odyssia, with the help of the square-jawed hero Quest. Lucky for him. Unlucky for Quest. Although he has no desire to protect the spoiled prince, Quest is the planet's greatest warrior and the only hero with enough strength, skill and courage to wield the Shatter Soul Sword that can defeat the evil Lord Sprite and save the kingdom. However, the sword is missing and Quest and Prince Nestor are in a race against time and Lord Sprite to find the sword and save Odyssia. Based on the Komikwerks graphic novel series by Jason Kruse, 13 half-hour episodes of "World of Quest" will be broadcast on Kids' WB on The CW and TELETOON in the fall.
Cookie Jar Entertainment will be located at stand #R30.33 at MIPTV.
