COOKIE JAR'S MAGI-NATION AND BUSYTOWN MYSTERIES DEBUT THIS FALL ON CBC The Doodlebops Season Three Premieres on September 3
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Toronto (August 28, 2007) - Two of Cookie Jar Entertainment's newest shows, "Magi-Nation", and "Busytown Mysteries (Hurray For Huckle!)", will air on CBC this fall. "The Doodlebops", preschoolers favorite rockin' band, also return for a third season on September 3rd at 9:30 a.m. (Eastern Canada) and 10:30 a.m. (Western Canada).
"Magi-Nation" debuts on September 8th at 10:30 a.m. Based on the popular trading card game, "Magi-Nation" follows the adventures of Tony Jones, an average teen who finds himself mysteriously transported to the magical world of Magi-Nation. In these Moonlands, Tony and his two new friends and a collection of dream creatures, must team up to save the nation by solving riddles, battling evil and discovering the secrets hidden in the Moonlands. During their adventures, they just might discover some secrets about themselves! Kids can experience the continuing action of Tony Jones, Edyn and Strag via the Internet this fall at www.Magi-Nation.com as they navigate their way through environmental obstacles and confront the constant challenges.
Inspired by the best-selling children's author Richard Scarry, who sold more than 150 million books worldwide, "Busytown Mysteries (Hurray For Huckle!)" starts airing on October 29th at 8:30 a.m. during the Kids' CBC preschool programming block "Busytown Mysteries (Hurray For Huckle!)" blends humor and learning by following the lives of six unforgettable characters who try to solve everyday life mysteries in Busytown. Huckle Cat, Lowly Worm, Sally Cat, Hilda Hippo and other colorful characters are always up for a new adventure and with everyone driving their own funny vehicle, getting there is half the fun.
Season three of "The Doodlebops" airs on the Kids' CBC preschool programming block and includes even more dance instruction, encouraging kids to get up and move along with the band. The popular "Doodlebops Dance of the Day" segment expands to further focus on movement and dance steps that preschoolers can easily master. "The Doodlebops" will also continue to include stories that impart simple age-appropriate life lessons on such topics as reluctance to trying something new; envy/sibling rivalry; learning to ask for help and discovery of new cultures and languages.
In addition to CBC's lineup, Cookie Jar will debut two new shows on TELETOON and YTV in 2008. "World of Quest", a comedic buddy series that follows a young pampered prince who enlists the help of a square-jawed hero named Quest in order to save his father and their kingdom, will air on TELETOON. "Will & Dewitt", a preschool show about big kid "firsts" that combines humor and music and the magic of animation, will premiere on YTV.
