THE DOODLEBOPS WIN 18th ANNUAL SOCAN AWARD FOR BEST CHILDREN'S TELEVISION MUSIC

TORONTO (November 20, 2007) - Cookie Jar Entertainment's hit series, "The Doodlebops", has been honoured with a SOCAN Award for Best Children's Television Music. The shows' composers, Carl Lenox, Peter Coulman, Johnny Rudledge, David Tedesco, Lisa Lougheed and CJar Music Publishing, received the award for their involvement in a television program that achieved the greatest number of performances in 2006.
"Cookie Jar and 'The Doodlebops' composers are pleased to win this award that recognizes the show's popular, high-energy songs. The music is a key component to 'The Doodlebops' success, a show that entertains and inspires children in Canada and around the world," said Michael Hirsh, 'The Doodlebops' co-creator and executive producer and CEO of The Cookie Jar Group.
The Doodlebops are currently on a concert tour through North America. Released by Universal Music Canada, the most recent Doodlebops' CD, "Doodlebops Superstars!" includes 19 tracks featuring preschooler favourites, "Get on the Bus II" and "Tick Tock". The band's seventh DVD, "Doodlebops Superstars!," was distributed by Vivendi Visual Entertainment Canada this fall. A new CD and DVD, both titled "Get on the Bus", were released in the US through Walt Disney Records and Lionsgate. And just in time for the holiday season, a line of Doodlebops musical toys produced by iToys, Inc. is available at major North American retailers including Zellers in Canada.
"The Doodlebops," kids' favorite rockin' band airs on Kids' CBC Monday through Friday at 10:30 a.m., Saturdays at 7:30 a.m. and Sundays at 7:00 a.m. The show also airs on Playhouse Disney in the US, Monday through Friday at 10:00 a.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 6:00 a.m.
