CPLG U.S. NAMES JEFF SHAPIRO VP, RETAIL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Burbank, CA (May 17, 2010) - Licensing industry veteran Jeff Shapiro has joined CPLG U.S. as VP, Retail Business Development. Based in Burbank, he will report to Cindy Davis, SVP, Licensing, CPLG U.S.
Shapiro will promote a wide range of brands at all levels of retail and will focus on retail expansion for popular Cookie Jar Entertainment brands: Richard Scarry's Busytown, Johnny Test and Caillou, as well as the Harlem Globetrotters, Strawberry Shortcake, Lucha Libre USA and Varsity.
"Jeff brings more than 15 years of industry experience to his new position, having worked with some of the world's most recognizable brands," said Davis. "He'll play a key role in the company's continued growth, expanding our client base as well as overseeing key licensing programs and brand development at retail."
Shapiro previously served as VP of Retail Marketing for Twentieth Century Fox where he developed and implemented retail marketing campaigns for numerous Fox TV and film properties including The Simpsons Movie. As Executive Director of Retail Promotions for Sony Pictures Consumer Products, he was responsible for retail marketing efforts for products representing their film and television properties, including the Spider-Man film franchise. Most recently, Shapiro served as Head of Retail Business Development for Art Impressions, Inc. where he developed merchandising-marketing campaigns for the Skelanimals brand with top accounts including Toys R' Us, Target, Borders, Kohl's, Justice, Claire's and Sears Canada, as well as promotional partner Taco Bell.
